Dizziness is the #1 complaint of persons age 70 and older. Dizziness is the third most frequent complaint to the doctor after headache and lower back pain. Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is the most common type of vertigo. The symptoms are provoked by a change in head position such as rolling over or getting out of bed. These symptoms last seconds to minutes.
Anne Marie Sinasac-Roy, Doctor of Audiology, has had a 95% success rate for the treatment of BPPV. To determine if you are a candidate for this treatment, phone the office and request a questionnaire for dizziness. Upon completion, Anne Marie will review your questionnaire and we will call you to schedule an appointment for the treatment. The treatment is very gentle and involves moving your head into very specific positions. You will require someone to drive you home from the appointment. A follow-up appointment will also be scheduled.
